Skills are how a survivor stops depending on luck. Each page covers what the skill does, the fastest XP routes, the books that matter, and the mistakes that waste your time.

| Carpentry | Carpentry governs barricades, walls, floors, stairs, furniture and rain collectors — the entire physical fabric of a base. |
| Mechanics | Mechanics covers vehicle repair, part removal and installation, engine maintenance and towing. |
| Electrical | Electrical governs generators, hotwiring, electronics dismantling and a range of advanced crafting recipes. |
| Aiming | Aiming determines firearm accuracy and how reliably your shots connect at range. |
| Fitness | Fitness governs endurance — how long you can fight, run and work before exhaustion sets in. |
| Strength | Strength governs melee damage, knockback, carry weight and melee stamina efficiency. |
| Cooking | Cooking improves the quality, safety and nutrition of prepared food, and unlocks better recipes. |
| Farming | Farming covers planting, tending and harvesting crops — the backbone of renewable food. |
| Foraging | Foraging (the wilderness/scavenging skill) governs finding food, materials and useful items in nature. |
