Server Admin Tips
A good admin does not just ban griefers. A good admin prevents confusion before it becomes drama.
Admin Work Is Prevention
Most server drama is preventable. Clear rules, regular backups and tested changes stop the arguments that otherwise eat your evenings. Reactive moderation is a last resort, not a strategy.
Admin Checklist
- Write server rules clearly
- Back up saves regularly
- Test mods before adding them
- Announce setting changes
- Define PvP rules
- Define safehouse rules
- Define vehicle ownership rules
- Define loot respawn expectations
- Have a plan for rollback situations
Common Admin Problems
- Adding mods mid-save without testing
- Unclear PvP expectations
- Unlimited loot respawn ruining progression
- No backup before a major change
- Players not knowing what counts as griefing
Server Rule Examples
- No destroying claimed safehouses
- No stealing from claimed safehouse containers
- PvP only outside protected zones
- Do not lure hordes into bases intentionally
- Do not block public roads with wrecks unless it is an approved event
- Vehicle ownership must be respected inside a claimed safehouse
Survivor Tip
“The helicopter event punishes players who settle too early and too loudly.”
