Fuel Guide
Fuel is not just for cars. It supports generators, loot runs, base relocation and long-term survival. Once the power shuts off, fuel access becomes one of the most important map-control problems you have.
Fuel Is A Strategic Resource
Treat fuel like ammunition: finite, valuable and worth planning around. Cars, generators, base relocation and far-flung loot runs all draw on the same shrinking pool once the pumps stop working.
Early Fuel Priorities
- Find and keep gas cans
- Mark nearby gas stations on your mental map
- Find or move a generator
- Secure a safe route to a fuel source
- Avoid wasting fuel on unnecessary trips
Gas Station Strategy
A gas station near your base is valuable, but it also concentrates risk. If zombies gather around the pumps, clearing the area safely matters more than rushing one more refill. Pump fuel works only while the grid holds — stockpile aggressively before the shutoff.
Generator Connection
Fuel matters even more once a generator is involved. If your base depends on refrigeration or lighting, fuel planning stops being optional and becomes routine survival maintenance — see the Electrical skill for connecting one safely.
Beginner Mistake
“Fight along fences so zombies reach you one at a time.”
