Athletic positive
Athletic quietly carries bad players harder than almost any trait in the game. Fitness decides whether you survive your own mistakes.
Why Players Take It
It starts you with high Fitness, and Fitness is one of the slowest, most painful skills to raise from scratch. Buying it at character creation skips dozens of hours of jogging in circles.
Early Game Impact
Enormous. Higher endurance means you can fight longer, run further and recover faster — exactly the margin that turns a fatal swarm into a clean escape on Day One.
Mid Game Impact
Still strong. Endurance underpins every melee fight, and Fitness gates how hard your character can push before exhaustion makes swings miss.
Late Game Impact
A non-Athletic survivor can eventually grind Fitness up, so the gap narrows over a very long run — but the early survival it buys is what gets you to "late game" at all.
Hidden Mechanics
Fitness levels up far slower than Strength. That asymmetry is the entire reason Athletic costs more in practical terms than its point value suggests.
